Fish Without a Bicycle is named after and largely in dedication to my Grandmother, Eula. She had a needlepoint in her kitchen that hung right next to her telephone that had the saying “A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle”. I really wish I had that needlepoint. I don’t. But I do have so many memories of the woman the needlepoint belonged to. She always encouraged me to write, she clipped articles out of the paper that she knew would be of interest to me. She taught me how to drive and so many other things. She was my biggest fan by far and I know I was hers. It only seemed fitting to name this after her somehow.
I write for myself, my family, and the community of women who have and continue to support my work. I write for Women and about Women. I write for Girls and about Girls.
In addition to maintaining this blog, I have had the pleasure of working in the field of media making for since 2002 and I am an award winning screenwriter, director and producer.
